Happy Friday! I hope you all had a wonderful week! I’ll be linking up with Erika and friends for this weeks edition of Friday Favorites. So here goes:
One
My absolute favorite for this week would have to be the 4th of July!!! We have some awesome friends(Chad and Lulu), who live in an awesome neighborhood, where they throw the BEST 4th of July block party in California!! It’s seriously so much fun- we look forward to it all year long. They start the day off with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the National Anthem, and then a parade led by a Firetruck. So we all decorate our bikes, scooters, wagons, etc. and we ride/walk behind the firetruck through the neighborhood. Then the ALL day party starts! We drink, we swim, we dance(they hire a D.J. every year), we eat awesome food, we play games like water-balloon toss, musical chairs. watermelon eating contest, egg toss, and more. Then at the end of the day we set off what seems like a million fireworks! It’s as much fun for the adults as it is for the kids. We’ve been going every year since 2011 and there’s no place I’d rather be for the 4th. Here are some pictures from our day:
My son is beyond obsessed with fireworks- he couldn’t wait for it to get dark. During the day he threw those little Pop-It’s that snap when they hit the ground. He’s a huge fan of those-you can see him in action in the video below. He had so much fun!
Spending time with great friends, celebrating and having a blast- definitely a favorite!

My next favorite of the week- the beach! We had our first official beach day of the Summer season this week. We drove out to beautiful Capistrano Beach and played in the water and sand all afternoon. The water was pretty warm and it was a gorgeous sunny day. Being lucky enough to live driving distance to the beach is a favorite for sure.

When we were in Maui last month I discovered this coconut water- and I swear it’s better than all the other coconut out there! I was seriously obsessed with how amazing this stuff tastes. I was so happy when we found it on Amazon- so I now have my own supply at home. If you like coconut water you’ll love this stuff. It’s my new favorite thing to drink.

My final favorite this week would have to be those lazy Summer days! You know the type- when it’s too hot to be outside so you stay in all day enjoying the air conditioning and watching movies? Cooper and I had one of those days recently and we watched some of his favorite movies and then we built a fort to play in. I love those days!
Of course my little dog Macy had to get in on the action! She’s always gotta be in the mix. She’s one of my favorites too!
