Hey everyone! Happy Friday! This week was even crazier than usual and I’m SO happy to see the weekend on the horizon. I’m linking up with Erika and friends for another edition of Friday Favorites!
My absolute FAVORITE thing this week was DEFINITELY Halloween and all the things we did leading up to it. We waited all month for the big day, and we really Halloween-ed it up this October! I wrote all about the many things we do to celebrate the season in my How We Halloween! post, so if you didn’t see that you can check it out for ideas for next year!
This week we carved our pumpkins of course! We keep it simple and fun- no stencils or complicated stuff around here. Cooper wanted to make his pumpkin into an army guy pumpkin(he got the idea from the Goosebumps 2 movie we saw over the weekend). We don’t have any army helmets so I just used a bowl instead. My husband had to carve his Yankees logo into his- it turned out pretty good…not as good as a Dodgers pumpkin would have looked though! 😉
Monday night we made our Boo Bucket deliveries! This is a tradition we’ve been doing for a few years now- we fill up Halloween buckets with goodies like stickers, bubbles, little Halloween trinkets and toys, and goodies like Pumpkin Bread, Mummy Pretzels, Harvest popcorn mix, etc. (I shared the recipes for most of these goodies here) Then we drop them off on our friends doorsteps, ring the doorbell and run! Most of the time we get away without getting caught…but this year so many people have those Ring Doorbells (with the sensor and camera), so we weren’t able to be quite as sneaky! Cooper thought it was fun getting “caught” though! We love this little tradition of ours- we got our first Boo Bucket from my awesome friend Deanna back in 2013 and we’ve been doing it ever since 🙂
Tuesday we made our Halloween hand print craft. We made a little bat and used Cooper’s hand prints as his wings. It turned out pretty cute-I know I’ll cherish it for years to come.
Cooper’s class had a Halloween party at school on Tuesday and I got to volunteer. We had a fun morning of decorating pumpkins, making bookmarks, playing with slime, and decorating cookies. It was a busy but fun morning and I’m so glad I was able to be there-I love that kind of stuff!
The next day was Halloween and there was NO SCHOOL!!! Yippee!! We slept in a little later than usual and then made our Haunted Cookie House after breakfast. It came out really good!
Later that afternoon we met up with our friends for an early dinner before hitting the Zombie Maze at a nearby shopping center. We had a big crazy group and we completely took over the patio of the restaurant! We had a fun dinner and then a slightly scary trip through the Zombie Maze. After that it was a night full of trick-or-treating with our friends. We even took a trip to our school to check out the trunk-or-treat for a little while. It was a great night! The neighborhood our friends live in is amazing- so many awesome decorations, big groups of kids everywhere, music, fog machines, the works. It was seriously like something out of a movie. I’m so glad we got to trick-or-treat there. We had the best time!
I have to say I’m sad Halloween is over 😦 We look forward to it for SO long and then it comes and goes in a flash! I can confidently say that we squeezed out every drop of Halloween fun that we could! I hope you all had a wonderful week and an amazing Halloween- thanks for reading 🙂 Have a great weekend everyone!
