Easter Weekend

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a nice Easter weekend! Thanks to this self-quarantine business our Easter looked very different than it usually does, but we made the best of it. Here’s a look at what we did:

Saturday

On Saturday we woke up to beautiful, sunshiny weather. We’ve been having nothing but cloudy, cold, rainy days, so we were excited to see the sun! After eating breakfast we hard-boiled our eggs, and then I set up Cooper’s art table outside to dye our eggs.

He was really looking forward to doing this all week! I love that he still gets excited for these traditions of ours ❤ This year I barely had to help him at all. I just set up his little work station and took pictures of him while he did his thing.

Dad helped too 🙂

Our dogs were outside with us the whole time enjoying the sunshine too:

Cooper was very proud of his eggs when he was all done. They turned out great!

He looks like such a big kid in this picture! How is my baby already 8 and a half??

After our eggs were done, I started working on my Easter frame. I had ordered a wooden frame off of Amazon. Usually I buy one from Michael’s each year, but everything is closed around here lately.

Wooden Frame

It was about $11 for two frames, which I thought was a good deal. I already have quite a bit of paint, Washi Tape , and scrapbook embellishments, so I just used what I already had to paint and decorate it. I thought it turned out pretty cute!

Our photo-shopped Easter Bunny picture now has a frame! I know that when I pull out my Easter decorations each year, I’ll know immediately that this photo is from Easter 2020- the Spring of COVID19.

After my frame was finished, Cooper and I made a batch of chocolate cupcakes. I also made a buttercream frosting, and a cream cheese frosting. I had fun decorating them and I thought they turned out really cute!

Next up it was time to work on our Easter craft. I had a small canvas that I’d purchased months ago, and I knew I wanted to do something with Cooper’s handprint’s. I searched for ideas on Pinterest, and settled on a little chick with Cooper’s fingerprints as its wings. We added googly eyes and some Washi Tape to the borders to pretty it up a bit. I love it!

We ended our day by watching Peter Rabbit. Before we went to bed we left out a plate of celery for the Easter Bunny to much on 🙂

Sunday

Sunday morning, Cooper woke up excited to see what the Easter Bunny brought him. He ran downstairs and found his basket:

The Easter Bunny always tends to go a little overboard on the basket goodies! I guess he figures that they’re only little once ❤ Also, I think he brings so much candy every year because he knows that a certain parent in our home is a candy fanatic.

Cooper’s current favorite things are Transformers and Godzilla, so he was really excited to see those items in his basket!

Once he was done opening his Easter basket, he went outside to find all the eggs the Easter Bunny hid in our backyard.

He found a bunch! Most of them were filled with candy, but some of the eggs had dollar bills in them. He was super excited about that- he’s saving up his money for a Transformer.

I made some breakfast after our egg hunt. Cooper practically lives off of bacon and eggs, so I thought I’d fancy up his breakfast for Easter.

Not as cute as bunny pancakes, but way easier!!

The rest of the day we just relaxed. We watched the movie Hop on Netflix. I had never seen it before, and it was a great movie to watch for Easter!

Amazon.com: Hop: James Marsden, Kaley Cuoco, Russell Brand, Tim ...

For Easter dinner I baked a ham, made scalloped potatoes(the cheater kind from the box- we love those) and roasted asparagus.

Then we ate way too much candy and cupcakes for dessert! It was a great Easter! Definitely quieter than usual, but that’s okay. We missed our people, but we know we’ll get to see everyone again soon.

Hope you had a nice Easter weekend too! Thanks for reading!
